Places to Run in the Aiken-Augusta Area:

The North Augusta Greeneway: ~ 20 minute Drive from Aiken.  Follow the Aiken-Augusta Highway (US 1, South) toward North Augusta.  Take the exit for Rt 125 (Just before North Augusta @ overpass).  Take 125 into North Augusta. Cross over Martintown Road and go til road ends.  Turn Right onto Buena Vista. Follow Buena Vista (crossing over 13th Street) and continue for additional 1 mile to the end.  Turn left on Georgetown Drive and follow it around to the Activity Center, which will be on the left.  Trail runs in front of Building.  Can run 3.3 miles "upriver", or 1.6 "downriver".   Click for info .

The Augusta Canal: Westbound on Washington Road, go under the I-20 overpass, turn right just past the BP Station, and then left just past the Marriott Courtyard. This turn will put you on Stevens Creek Road. Follow Stevens Creek for about three miles until you reach a four-way stop sign at Evans-to-Locks Road. Turn right and follow Evans-to-Locks Road until it deadends at the Savannah Rapids Pavilion.

Odell Weeks Rec Center: Located in the heart of Aiken's Southside (1700 Whiskey Rd.) This 1 mile pedestrian walkway is a popular place for walkers, joggers, and real runners.  Course is exactly 1 mile, with 1/4 pts marked.  

Aiken's Hitchcock Woods: 2000 acres or trails, right in the heart of Aiken.  Best entrances are (1) West end of South Boundary, drive til you must park, then run til you're tired,  (2) Two entrances off Dibble Rd, you pick your favorite!  REMEMBER TO YIELD TO HORSES...YIELD MEANS STOP!!
